From D'Lyn: 457 south of Sargent under water. Some 911 calls from there.

I've never been to the fishing hut. Does anyone know if this means its under water?

Will keep you posted.

Phone call from D'Lyn: They are fine. Their neighborhood has received minimal damage. There are some trampolines in the street that either blew over a fence or blew through a fence (not D'Lyn's - it stayed tied to the tree- see picture in the blog). Some siding is missing from some homes. One house you can see all the way into their attic. She has taken pictures and will upload them once she has access to electricity.

They have not decided what they will do once the roads are passable since they have no electricity and may not get it for a couple of weeks.

If anyone hears of news of Sargent, please let me know. They are anxious to hear about their friends there.

Wil keep you posted.

Phone call from D'Lyn: John is cutting the palm tree up that fell in the front yard. She said it's very hot/humid in the house because of no elctricity. She also stated that Jake was scared during the storm but he's fine now. She said that they have to watch the doors now because he has figured out that he no longer gets shocked by his collar when he goes near a door.

She says she heard that Wal-Mart outside their subdivision now has power. It's on a main highway so it will still be a while.

Will keep you posted.

Phone call from D'Lyn: Still no power. She can only get a signal on her cell if she walks down the street. Everything is dark and quiet. Planning on going to church tomorrow. Wanted to know if we had heard when the schools would be open again.

Will keep you posted.

PS.... I called D'Lyn's on Friday morning on my way in to work. Abbie answered the phone. I asked Abbie why she wasn't on the way to school? Abbie's response was purely kidlike in a sing songy voice. She said "Hurricane! Du-uh!" And I busted out laughing.

From D'Lyn: We have power! Yeah! Still no AC upstairs since that went out before Ike but things are much better with electricity.

D'Lyn wanted to say a special thank you for those of you who specifically said a prayer for the return of electricity. Your prayers were greatly appreciated and were answered.
